Arthritis

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of the joints. A joint is the area where two bones meet. There are over 100 different types of arthritis. Symptoms include pain and stiffness in the joints. The pain is often worse after prolonged activity and when you put weight or pressure on the joint. If you have symptoms, the doctor will ask questions about your medical history and perform a physical exam and, possibly, take X-rays to confirm the diagnosis.
